If you don’t know your tweeters (a loudspeaker designed to produce high frequency audio sound) from your woofers (loudspeaker designed to produce low frequency audio sound) how can you tell a top quality loudspeaker from one of lesser class?
Simply listen.
Your ears do not require the ability to understand the complexities of reproducing clarity of sound. They, merely, need to hear the sound emitting from Linn speakers to know that they are being afforded audio perfection at its highest level.
Our ears can pick up the slightest sound which is sent through our outer ears to the middle ear (where sound is converted into vibrations), through our ear drums and to the ossicles (three extremely important bones, which happen to be very delicate and are the smallest bones in our bodies), probably better known as the hammer, anvil and stirrup (from the Latin: malleus; incus; stapes). These tiny bones are responsible for moving the sound vibration into our inner ears and the cochlea. When the liquid in the cochlea begins moving the tiny hairs on the cells of the cochlea sending nerve signals that the brain interprets as sound. If that sound is, somehow, not quite as it could, or should, be our ears can pick that out, too.
