Technics Turntable Hum
Why do my speakers buzz?
My configuration is: (2) Technics SL-1200 turntable Technics SA-200 receiver (2) Sherwood S-1860 speakers Vestax PC-17A mixer Audiopipe 12 AWG speaker M97xE Shure cartridge (pen and N97) I can connect a (phono) turntable to my mixer, and from my mixer (online) to my receiver via the AUX. Then both ends of the speaker cable to the receiver and speakers. Are my speakers buzz is that so? Whether playing or not playing my records, the speakers will buzz. Is this supposed to happen?
One possibility is that the speaker wires are running too close to the wired network. Always possible, you should have a space of 2 feet between the network and speaker cables. If the speaker cables route the power cables nearby, trying to cross at 90 degrees to reduce the length, where the network is interfering with the speaker cables. It is also worth checking that the earth is connected in the sockets of your electrical appliances high fidelity.
