DJ System sound quality?
First, here is a list of my team. 2 Technics 1200, Vestax PMC-05ProSL Mixer, QSC RMX 1450 Amp MTX attached Speakers ThunderPro2 purchased at Circuit City. The problem I'm having is the sound has a lot of medium and high, but the basses are disappointing. Is it possible the amplifier has an effect on the quality of sound that the speakers? My friend has the same speakers and the bass beat in piglets. Installation is virtually the same, in 1200, Vestax PMC-08Pro Hybrid Digital Mixer, running on a ridge 800 CPX amplifier. What could be the problem?
Sure that the "filter" on the configuration DIP switches on the back of the back of the QSC amplifier are set to 30Hz. Limit the output switches of the amplifier. Switches 2 through 9 are left and the switches 1 and 10 will be to the right. It sounds like you have a good setup. It is possible that want to play with the EQ settings in your mixer too. Increases under a bit, cut the mids a bit (which is an old trick DJ). Just make sure you are not driving your amp into clipping. This is the worst thing you can do to the speakers. Keep an eye on the clip lights on the front of the amplifier. Also make sure you're driving the amplifier of the mixer with a good signal level. His feet above the mixer should bounce into the red a little. If that is too strong, then lower the level of controls on the amp. You will still get the same power amplifier. If still not satisfied with the bass, you might want to invest in another amp and subs. Subs really helps!
