Copying a file on a Mac?
Hey guys, I just bought a new DJ system and am having problems with the software … I just found the solution a forum and they told me I have to do the following: ************************************* ** ****************************************** – Close all applications. – Copy of "Traktor.xml" file: Applications / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Service Center: Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Service Center – Copy of the "factory settings" folder: Applications / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Traktor to: Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Traktor – Restart the computer. Now you can Traktor activated by the Service Center and must work properly. ************************************************** ******************************* I do not get it! I'm new to Mac and I really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks in advance!
It's easy, open a new Finder window (this is the way to browse files on a Mac) and click on the icon in the sidebar that says "Application" when you're in that folder, then you must find the folder "Library", then in the library folder you have to click on "application support, then within the Application Support folder you need to find the folder" tools natives ", and within that folder you need to find the 'service center' folder, and finally, within this folder is the file you need to copy: "Traktor.xml" In other words: Applications / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Service Center Traktor.xml Get It? Now who has sailed through all the folders and found 'Traktor.xml' will have to copy it. Traktor.xml Right click, this will bring a menu a list of options. Click "Copy", it will copy the file ready to paste anywhere you want. The next step (this is where you will copy file) – need to double click the Macintosh HD icon on your desktop – will open a new Finder window, and now (as I explained above) will to navigate through all these folders: Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Native Instruments / Service Center to reach the Service Center "folder. double-click the folder to open service center, now all you have to do is right click anywhere within that window of folders, this will open a list of options, select "paste." You have now copied the file 'Traktor.xml to folder "Service Center". Now do the same but follow the rest of instructions that have been published. Now you can activate Traktor using the Service Center, but I'm not sure what this last part, I have understood that you should know because it is the solution to any problem you have been experiencing. One thing that worries me is that if you do not have an understanding of a very basic concept in computing, such as shipping, how can you know that this is still a solution to your problem to begin with? Do you know what the "Service Center" or " Traktor is? Not to sound condescending, just want to make sure they really know what to do after copying the files over.
