Video montages: a popular trend in the Bar or Bat Mitzvah party

If you are in the way of planning bar mitzvah (or bat mitzvah) you probably already know what the title of this article is about. If not, ask your son or daughter. He or she will tell.

Along with the location, service catering and DJ, video montages have quickly become one of the basics of a great bar / bat mitzvah party. Projected on a big screen at the festival, ideal sound that emanates through the sound system DJ's kickin ', the assembly is a journey through the thirteen years it took until the day of today. Typically in the range of eight to ten minutes, a video montage highlights of these years in an entertaining way that allows guests to experience the uniqueness the bar mitzvah or bat.

As I tell people:

Ten minutes you can go really fast, or it may appear forever.

Poorly constructed video montages are as exciting as watching paint dry experience. The trap that DIY-creators Installation often fall into is that each baby picture, the goal of football and school clip play video is Academy Award worthy and deserves to be seen. In its entirety. Repeatedly.

A "Mom" or "dad" to create the assembly is a challenge because each photo, each clip has a special meaning. It is difficult to discern what to enter, and what should remain in the notebook or in the video library. And in these days, digital photography, most people have hundreds if not thousands of photographs in his collection. Make the wrong choices, create a collage uninspired, repetitive, and that big party vibe that started Time and crescendo'd with music by DJ's dance party, suddenly, dead on the side of the road like road kill.

Sound rough? Yes it is. But ten minutes of a boring assembly can be very destructive to the party atmosphere.

Unfortunately, many of which offer assembly services of creation was in the field with the wrong background and experience. A photographer knows how to take a big picture, how to set up the shot, adjust the lights, under the subject. A cameraman knows how to record videos to cover an event. However, video montages, existing photographs, video is in the pantheon Family, compiled by mom and dad through the years – family vacations, birthday parties, sports, plays and graduations. Mom or Dad experience has been capturing images of great video and photos through the years, and now a professional making that commodity and must be transformed into a movie large assembly.

Mounting a successful operator has to be a storyteller, a filmmaker. The assembly is, in fact, a documentary about his son or daughter – what makes check it. If you turn on the TV and see a good film documentarian Ken Burns or respected, or if you catch a celebrity profile / biography on MTV, VH-1, E! or Ch History will see how real subject matter, clever use of photos, video, music, sound-bytes, voiceover, interviews and creative transitions add to the excitement and clarity of "history."

A good director can make baskets look interesting. A poor can make Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie seems very interesting. Well, maybe not Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. It's hard to look bad.

It is true that the guests at your event is a hot public. They want to enjoy the assembly. And they know the subject – at least somehow otherwise not be there. However, for the best presentation possible, here are some tips to consider:

1. Does the assembly entertaining for someone who only knows some of the people in it?

"Aunt Tillie has to be there as well no offense, but are all the photos and clips of their necessary? "Each clip offer something new, say something unique about the bar or bat mitzvah boy / girl? Keep this in account, because that is what keeps moving and interesting.

Assembly is focused on the Bar Mitzvah /?

It seems an obvious question, but I can not tell you how many mounts I've seen where suddenly a brother or sister suddenly steals the spotlight. O-hi Uncle Louie suddenly fun center stage. It's your son or daughter. Keep focused on him or her. All others must be shown in a way that relates to your son or daughter.

Mixture.

The pictures are great, and everyone can "tell" a story, but if you have video footage, well, a mixture of pictures and video clips remains interesting. However, they vary – some video pictures in rapid succession, then back to the photos again. This keeps interest.

And finally …

Screening and Presentation

It does not matter if you have a large assembly if you can not see or hear. Who is responsible for this? The catering hall? The DJ? Do not leave this to the last minute, which is enough to drive. Best if the projection is managed by the operator of the assembly. He or she knows what is supposed to sound and image. Insist on a technique "run through" and watch / listen to their eyes / ears in the exact place shown. Do not just take someone's word for it is "under control." One technique is to run through a full pass through all the right equipment, ideally just a couple of days before the event. Configuration of the machines must taken into account, noise levels, distance to the screen, etc, in the event that the equipment is being used by others after and before the party. There is nothing worse than expectant guests waiting to see the assembly, and something is wrong – people suddenly fighting over a missing cable, because the assembly can be seen and not heard, or vice versa …

The most important …

Have fun! your child's bar or bat mitzvah happens only once, so sit back and enjoy. I can assure you from personal experience will go by fast!
