This information is for my Business Information Systems class project.
Managing expectations is "the most difficult" any software development project. The aim is to create working software that meets the needs of the company within the constraints of available resources. Developmental aspects in particular to achieve this objective, which is the riskiest and most challenging, vary with the working environment. The difficulty is mainly a function of project management methodology in the workplace. At the extreme end of the spectrum pure waterfall, meeting the requirements is usually the most sensitive bits. Since the project specifications tend to become "set in stone" cascade, all that was lost during the collection phase leads to dissatisfaction that the application does not offer the items lost, cries – when business owners see the potential and additional costs for the adaptation of these elements, or screams – When developers are forced to work seventieth week hours to add the missing functionality. From requirements gathering phase almost always not be complete, Waterfall project management virtually guarantees that developers and business owners are placed in conflicting roles at some point in the late development or phases of release. At the end of the spectrum Agile, parties tend to be more difficult to maintain the appropriate level of participation of business representatives and sense of detachment in IT management. This bit varies depending on the size and history within each store. Large organizations with a long history Project Management Agile different arrangements tend to have the biggest problems, not business people "get" why they have to be so deep and often involved in highly technical tasks that seem to them, managers do not "get" why developers are not producing reams of technical documentation. Small businesses or younger with less experience in non-Agile methods often suffer less these pains in particular. Without management methods, if all parts of the business through stakeholders code-level developers are thoughtful, well-intentioned professionals with a good understanding of particular difficulties of its management process, the painful parts can be minimized. In general, the education of all parties involved to maintain realistic expectations on what constitutes "the most difficult" under the project management methodology chosen is "The most difficult part."
