New technology brings new ways to discover music
Thanks to the Internet, the music industry has changed forever. More than ever to discover new music, not necessarily involve going to concerts and buy albums, but, however, almost never an endless number of blogs, forums, fan sites, online magazines and more are dedicated to helping you discover new music. Gone are the days of listening to the radio hoping that the DJ will tell you the name of each track played, so you can cut to the local record store to buy it, but many radio stations are now even user-generated, so that DJs are to discover new music of listeners in place.
So in the current era of MP3 and streaming music, just what are the best, and legal ways to find new music? Old tested techniques like word of mouth and after the music fashion magazines are still as true as ever, but there are many ways to listen to bands like even before have to buy the music, one of the easiest is by looking for a band on MySpace or LastFM. Similarly music videos on cable or by satellite TV channels are showing the most popular artists up-and-coming, but these are largely the domain of bands and musicians who already have a degree of success. One of the benefits of finding new music online is that many sites, including official band sites, often have a link to a site where you can buy the song itself, either in MP3 or hard copy format. For unsigned bands and artists just starting out in the music industry, this is the key feature that allows them to create an income for themselves without the need for a seal label.
Of free podcasts and online radio stations, the influential bloggers and online trendsetting stores backed by small independent labels the search for new music has never been so easy and fun as it is today.
