What is the correct word for a child who entertains tourists in a resort as a DJ and so forth?
"I can simply call an artist "tourist" or is there another term? I think "cheerleader" is only connected with the movies and cartoons. Thank you. My dictionary says "cheerleader" but I just think that is not entirely correct, or rather, it is almost certainly wrong! It is a serious question, I need a term right for a translation, not a simple word for a postcard to your friends!
"Animator" is a common European word for man or woman Entertain guests in the hotels and holiday parks. It is almost universal in the Spanish-speaking countries and is not used in English. Most summer camps and hotels with entertainment appeal hosts and hostesses girls are (but some idiot put that word unhealthy color so even the girls are sometimes called Hosts). In the United Kingdom could use "MC" (MC), but it may seem pretentious to some people. Ironically, many of disc jockeys call themselves MC's because it looks cool.
