Benny Benassi (born Marco Benassi on July 13, 1967 [1]) is a Grammy Award-winning Italian DJ and music producer electro house. He is best known for his 2002 summer club hit "Satisfaction." Benny Benassi ranks as the tenth most popular DJ in the world according to website List of the DJ, [2]. On October 28, 2009, DJ Magazine, announced the results of its annual survey of the 100 DJ, with the stamp artist Benny Benassi Ultra occupied at # 26, 13 points more than the previous year [3].
Born in Reggio Emilia, DJ / producer Benassi started DJing alongside cousin Alle Benassi in the late 1980 in his hometown, before moving on to study Pignagnoli Larry Off Limits production in mid 1990, creating music for various acts, including Whigfield, JK and Ally & Jo. Benassi first on the dance floor with their own projects in 2001 with the single "I Feel So Fine", released under the name KMC with vowels by Dhany, the first track stormed the charts in Benassi native Italy, and soon became a number one hit in the UK [1].
After moving from myhouse electro, "Satisfaction" succeeded Benassi worldwide a year later with high-profile DJs like Carl Cox, Darren Emerson, and Roger Sanchez singing its praises. It reached number two on the UK Singles Chart after the Ministry of Sound record company replaced the video original (almost fixed image of the band with inset panels) with a video of models using power tools. Launched in 2003, the camp and quirky Hypnotica solo debut was Benassi. In late 2004, won the European Border Breakers Award for Hypnotica, which accumulated the highest sales for an album of Italian outside Italy. Benassi often works with vocalists Paul French and Violeta, who are collectively known as The Biz.
Benassi was then a group with cousin Alle, called Benassi Bros, a project designed to shine the light on the two Biz vocalists, Paul French and Violeta and other guest singers. A year after the release of Hypnotica, Pumphonia marked his first full length release. And then, in 2005, Benassi Bros. released their second album … phobia.
Some of his singles have charted high in the United Kingdom and have been played worldwide in clubs. Remixes for OutKast, Goldfrapp, and Felix da Housecat followed. Benassi also remixes music of his contemporaries, as Tomcraft and Fischerspooner.
In 2005, he founded the record label known as Benassi Pump-Kin Music. The focus of the label is especially new and unsigned producers. Through this company, which hopes to give exposure to some of the lesser known DJ / production talent across the world.
In August 2007, Benassi released a remix of "Bring the Noise Public Enemy." The video for the song was created by the eclectic method with a montage live image of Public Enemy, the video was premiered on imeem.com. In February 2008 "Bring the Noise" won a Grammy for Best Remix (Dance).
