Tips for the parties in Rio on New Year Eve Next
Life is about choices. Right? The choice you make where you'll spend next New Year's up to you. You might decide to stay home and watch Ryan Seacrest on TV or actually be in a party that is seeing. If you are in a life full of amazing experiences, then Rio de Janeiro for New Year's Eve is definitely for you. However, there some challenges to become part of that larger than life. If you do not book air and hotel 8-10 months in advance then it is likely that s not going to happen. Suppose, 3 million people gathered from around the world, all on the beach, while the party. It's pretty nuts and I find it very difficult to make a decent hotel and fresh air not route through Zimbabwe. Here are my tips on how to make it happen. Did I mention the book ahead of time?
Hotel
I'm definitely a bit of a pain but when it comes to hotels. The only place I recommend is the new Fasano Hotel. It is an excellent hotel. I should mention that Fasano is in Ipanema and not in Copacabana (where the new fireworks are year-end). For my money remains the place to stay. Speaking of money, which no doubt will cost to stay there during the New Year's Eve. Plan (pre-paid 6 months in advance) about $ 1,200 per night in the year-end package (3 days surrounding New Year). The other nights are about half. I know it's stupid expensive, but worth it ..
The week before New Year's Eve
Depending for when you arrive (I recommend arriving the day after Christmas) you will notice a daily increase in palpable enthusiasm and the crowds leading up to the eve of New Year. There are plenty of options for dining and partying. Remember, this place is crazy during this time to make reservations in advance or restaurant Fasano has a Black card wave around (which actually has magical powers). The best food restaurants, the scene and the environment are listed below. I have also included my best options for classrooms, clubs and shops.
Restaurants
1. Zuka (Leblon)

Modern stylish atmosphere and contemporary cuisine, great atmosphere, good looking people, a place to see and be seen. Do not miss it!
2. Sushi Leblon (Leblon)
Rua Dias Ferreira, 256 District: Leblon Phone: 55 21 2274 1342
This is the best restaurant sushi with a sophisticated atmosphere. Definitely worth the wait, the food is incredible, the service is good and people are improving the environment.
3. Satyricion (Ipanema)
Rua Barão da Torre, 192 Neighborhood: Ipanema Phone: +55 21 2521 0627
Satyricion has a dramatic entry with a lobster tank, scallops, oysters, tropical clams, mussels, etc. This is a unique restaurant and pioneer and is considered one of the best of the seafood restaurants on the River. Mick Jagger has been coming to Brazil very often now to see her son, Lucas. He only leaves his hotel to visit the Satyricon – a restaurant that ranks among the best in the world. It used to be joint fisherman!
4. Gero (Ipanema)
District: Ipanema Phone: +55 21 2239 8158
Great Italian restaurant, where it is generally are different personalities. They offer an impressive wine list and is famous for dessert (cake petit get the lemon). Gero is a great place with great food and service and beautiful people. It is difficult to get a table – you should make a reservation.
5. Aprazivel (Santa Teresa)

This is an amazing place casual but with great views and incredible Brazilian contemporary cuisine. The neighborhood, though unreliable, is old and quaint and worth a visit. Northeast Brazil's food is the staple food here and is very tasty and inventive. Book tables trees (2 to 3 days in advance).
6. Zaza Bistro – (Ipanema)
Great Bistro with a fusion of Brazilian and Asian food. Sit on the top covers, pillow or at the tables outside. Good choice for dinner in Ipanema.

Beautiful bar in the lobby of the Hotel Fasano toward the bright end of the runway. Open every day of the week after 7pm. It has the most famous duos DJ's, trios and bands play for a very exclusive.
2. 00 Zero Zero (Leblon)

Clean decor, full of cushions and candles outside. Saturday Nights are fantastic, great music and beautiful people. Lounge music outside and inside of house music.
3. Boox (Ipanema)
Rua Barão da Torre, 368 Neighborhood: Ipanema +55 21 2522 3730
Thursday or Friday or Saturday: A contemporary Italian restaurant that nearly turns into a nightclub as the night. This is an elegant living room, sophisticated and really fun. It is small and selective. Full of beautiful people and good music. The best living room in Ipanema. Make reservations for it.
4. Scenarium River (Lapa)

Go Saturdays a must if you are in Rio de Janeiro. See Rio de Janeiro in the 1920s. It is a bar, restaurant and nightclub, all in one. Very moderate prices and good live music from Samba. Try to arrive on Wednesday or a weekend and book a table next the dance floor. This space is 2700 square feet, a few years ago was a dark antique shop. Today, each weekend sees a crowd of 3,000. People dance samba all night and every day is a party. If you go to a club in Rio do it. Arrive before 10:30. The line can be brutal.

Osklen is by far the most authentic and sophisticated choice for clothing stores around the country and also in Milan, Rome, New York and Geneva. The designer Oskar is internationally acclaimed Metsavaht his "Brazilian Soul" lifestyle brand inspired. It is a must when in Rio.
