I am looking to buy a new laptop with DJ. Now I have a Gateway with a 1.8Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. The problem is that once in a while, the computer will receive frozen and skip any song, video or game playing I am like a scratched CD for like 30 seconds. This is unacceptable for live music performance. Does a Apple Powerbook G4 with 512MB of RAM 1.67Mhz enough. Maximum I out of RAM when I have it. I found some online for $ 929. Duno, I'm not a DJ, but I can say one thing. That G4 is not a good business. It would be about three years old. Instead you can buy a 2.0GHz MacBook repaired with Intel Core 2 Duo with a full warranty from Apple.com. For by that same price. I know that MacBooks and MacBook Pros are the equipment of choice for most music professionals. For best performance when you max out RAM after purchase.
