Dj Rock Band Game

The night Lennon was killed
For me it was a Monday night like any other, where I live the memory of what was home watching a football match (From the American variety) Football on ABC on Monday night between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots and though I do not remember the exact time I know it must have been close midnight on December 8, 1980. This considering that the game was late for the 4th quarter with the Patriots winning by seven points when the Dolphins, led by Woodley young quarterback headed to a touchdown to send the game into overtime. It was while the Dolphins were leading the field until late in the 4th quarter Cossell Howard announced that John Lennon, a name that frankly I had never heard of until that moment that I'm 13 at the time had been shot he left his apartment building, The Dakota. " The Dakota is a building located on the west side of Central Park at 72nd Street in Manhattan and not far from where I at that time was living with my mother between 81 and 82nd Street on Lexington Avenue.
At the time I had no idea that John Lennon was when it was announced who was a member of a gang that had been known as "The Beatles". The name of one who had often heard but never received any particular interest along with many other names such as The Rolling Stones or The Who "or" Led Zeppelin. " Naturally, at the time wanted the life of this man could be saved as I have done over the life of anyone, regardless of the weather conditions were famous or not.
However I checked with my grandmother, who was in New York and stay with us at the time if he knew who Lennon was, above all he knew of my grandmother for a classical music fan and not much of an hour of pop music or rock music or whatever you want to be classified as. My grandmother, who at the time was 76 actually surprised me by saying that she did not know who he was, but she had gone to a Beatles concert back in 65 when they played at Shea Stadium (then home of the New York Jets and Mets and the place where I saw "The Rolling Stones" in concert in 1989) located in Queens in front of 66,000 people, this being the biggest rock concert of the time. After hearing about the experience of my grandmother if you can call it not only Lennon, but "The Beatles "I said that John Lennon had been shot if nothing more was heard of him at that time.
I can not say that my grandmother was particularly affected by pain to hear the news but, like me, she never wanted to hear that had been caused harm to anyone so with his words of "I hope you will not die "I left to go back to my room to continue watching Monday Night Football. As for the game actually ended in a tie, which under the rules of football meant that American would have to be sudden death overtime, and this was precisely what he was seeing when Cossell announced that Lennon had unfortunately died from gunshot wounds received in the afternoon. That's when I found it again and tell my grandmother, that I was very sad as it was when Elvis Presley died in his statement "It's a shame that people feel they have to do such things to another indicated" one.
As for me, I was naturally saddened by the news but do not say in a way that is unlike any other time I had heard of the tragedy happens, like a plane crash or earthquake or something that had been responsible for the loss of lives. As for the game itself, but ended with the Dolphins Miami won in overtime. This makes me feel a little better since they were the team that really went to shoot.
I can not say personally Lennon's death meant a lot to me at that moment because I knew hardly anything about him, that would not made any difference to me if I had since I'm not the to mourn the death of those who do not know personally. As I have for example the death of my own grandfather, who incidentally had also died in December in the year 1975. But Lennon's death helped raise my curiosity to know how much of how Mercury's death 11 years later my curiosity increased nephews to learn everything he could about the queen.
I however, never forget the week following that in many ways reminded me of the time after Elvis Presley's death, which given the fact that after the death of John Lennon was also in all media, from newspapers to television stations (although not CNN and MTV, as neither had been on the air yet) radio stations. As a case in which the last of them could not seem to get enough to touch their songs, time as a solo artist or when he was a member of The Beatles. " It is songs like "Imagine," "Come Together" "Starting Over" and many others were among those played but I mention these, particularly given the reason that they were the only even know whether he was previously unaware that they were of Lennon. "Starting Over", however it stayed with me for another reason, apart from that is that had been receiving heavy radio in time before Lennon's death, as was my brother-in-law used to wake up one morning while he slept in his apartment. This will never forget, it was Saturday morning and I had spent the night sleeping on the couch in the living room of my sister when suddenly I hear the sound of bells. These bells literally blaring stereo next to me, as was the introduction to the song "Starting Over."
In fact, during the months leading to the death of Lennon, who had been listening to the radio, almost every day as I did my homework and discovered that in fact not only enjoyed some of the songs (some only having heard many times), but even the commercials and the general atmosphere of radio stations as ABC and NBC. As for radio stations but I remember especially two DJs for the names of Don Imus and Howard Stern, that caught my attention, especially since made a morning show, which was also promoted by people who show a television commercial saying "I love" Imus in the Morning ". It was also during this time that for the first time in my life become familiar with some of the popular songs of the time as" Another One Bites The Dust " (Queen), "I Love A Rainy Night (Eddie Rabbit)," Emotional Rescue "(The Rolling Stones)," I Love You More Then I can say I " (Leo Sawyer) and many others. So at the time of Lennon's death had become more familiar with pop music that I had that maybe I have to take a greatest concern would be if it had happened before the fall of 1980 in which I received my first radio with a built-in cassette player.
In regard to television stations, many people came out to play movies in which the Beatles had looked like "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help" like many a documentary about John Lennon not only the music (both as soloist and member of one of "The Beatles"), but his life personal. Much of it I realized I was focused on his personal life, politics, and what had been his marriage to Yoko Ono. There is a moment yet in every week following the death of John Lennon that will never leave my memory and became the first Saturday after his assassination, when during halftime of a football match I was seeing, the city of New York held a ten-minute silence in honor of Lennon. Being even more surprising when you consider that when John Paul I died only 1 minute of silence and remained even throughout the city of New York. After all the popes, their will be many, but a rather weak theory, said that the world will end after a couple have died, but as Lennon's music branch in its sole Wagner will be no more than once.
In retrospect, it's really amazing to think that the death of John Lennon in a way did not help bring back popularity only to the Beatles, but that was all he had was the first British invasion that brought along bands like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and many others. It was as if the rock and roll were given a boost, as many people like me who were not fans of the Beatles Lennon or suddenly become more interested in this kind of music. For my part, I can imagine this is what happened the year past when Pavarotti died, that many people who unlike me were not opera fans for some time following the death of Pavarotti was interested opera. Maybe even go out and get a CD or DVD Pavarotti as much as people did with Lennon shortly after his death. Naturally at the time of Lennon's death, no none of whom had only albums and cassettes were available but most people reading this I mean in general.
At the time of the death of Lennon, Rock and Roll, however, had been the death of many in his family who had won 69 advertising as Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix 70, Janis 70 Joplin, Jim Morrison 71, 78 Keith Moon (who died in the same hotel room as Mama Cass), John Bonham 80, Bon Scot 80, 74 Ellen Naomi Cohen (aka as Cass Elliot), but discovering the death of Elvis had not received any where near the same amount of media attention. All this making it clear what had Lennon was a contribution to their genre of music that I have to admit that it is my favorite because I am one to follow the classical music and opera but not to the extent that I am blind to the quality of other different genres of music. This being the case, though I remember something I once heard someone say to Edward Van Halen (guitarist the group that bears his name) on MTV was "music is not rock and roll or heavy metal or kind or class this good or bad, but" only for Van Halen response " No, music is not good or bad, is something you like or dislike. "This comment from Edward Van Halen is the way I see music as a place of being good or bad, but I must say I like some of the music I heard in the field that is rock music that includes many other besides the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
With regard to the death of John Lennon really was not until Farrokh Bulsara (aka Freddie Mercury) died on November 24 that any death in or outside of music received both the media attention. This being the case with respect to the media attention but perhaps a lot of the coverage received by Mercury due to the fact that his death was caused by AIDS, which was an even greater concern at the time then it is today. For my own doing I remember feeling a certain sadness by the death of "quiet Beatle Harrison" George, who died of cancer on November 29, 2001, although the news of his death was partly drowned out by the September events. 11, which were still in the media.
The aftermath of Lennon's death led to a return to say rock music that had in recent years have left out perhaps the disco boom "that erupted after the movie" Fever Saturday night. "It was as if the disappearance of Lennon did for Rock and Roll The Beatles had done for her for so many years in 1964, when it appeared first time on the Ed Sullivan show. Rock and Roll was in fashion again and as for me? I can not in all honesty claim to have found in him what I have in music classical and opera (I, being the author of "New York Opera Society), although I did find something of value in it as I have with many others types of music. One could even say it was that time period that followed Lennon's death inspired me to listen to many a variety of rock band and attending although Styx concert, AC / DC, Deep Purple, Rod Steward, Iron Maiden (twice), Pearl Jam, David Lee Roth, Ian Gillan and the Rolling Stones.

Make Yourself $5.05 Young, aggro, and from Los Angeles–it’s tempting to put Incubus in the already crowded category populated by Korn, System of a Down, and their other loud and heavy brethren. More like Faith No More than Limp Bizkit, Incubus still have that teen-… |
