Ijango – how to market the Google Network
Friday night saw the debut of another exoteric statement Jay-Z: "You sing a little rap / return to rap, T-Pain-ing too much / I'm a Billionaire / So how hard I am the one n — here? "
A hot time in New York, 97 radio station, song premiered Jay his new approach Blueprint 3 LP called "DOA" or "The Death of Auto-Tune."
"This goes against Auto-Tune, disappearance Hov the tone starts rapping on a track co-produced by Kanye West and ID hard beats and horns glow like Jay wakes up figures on a black John Dillinger holding a steaming Tommy Gun, making an ignorant fool to stand in their way. Jay has returned to bite down MCs.
"This is not for iTunes, this is not for singalongs" then raps in the song. "This is Frank Sinatra at the opera, get a blonde … My rap songs do not carry / must do jackers committing felonies / This is not a disk # 1, this is practically assault with a deadly weapon. "
Last month, Kanye West told MTV News about Jay-Z's position against the Auto-Tune, vocal effect often used by T-Pain and West himself in his latest album 808s and Heartbreak.
"In fact removed all songs with Auto-Tune out from their album, "West said," to make the point that it is an anti-Auto-Tune album, though released an album that has all Auto-Tune! "
Later Friday night, Jay Funkmaster Flex puts on Mister Cee and Hot 97's studios to explain that he is pointing to artists who use Auto-Tune as a crutch. He also compared the use of vocal improvement of the rappers to use jerseys back in its day: Everyone started to use them and I've played out.
"I think I said something important, "he said, adding that he spoke" only in the aspect of movement [the conversation] forward, "developed and he was not a.
"The guys who did it, he did very well," he said. "T-Pain, making great melodies. If you listen to Kanye, large melodies. If you listen to [] of the West "Say You Will" or "no heart", great tunes. [Lil Wayne and T-Pain] 'Lollipop' was a fantastic melody. Everyone can not. Than boys do. They got their little niche, let's move on. That's just my opinion. I do not know if everyone agrees. "
The MC from Brooklyn, said his intention with the album was to "draw [line] in the sand."
The Jiggaman confirmed that its highly anticipated Blueprint 3 is coming out through a new partnership with Atlantic Records, the album is expected to be released on September 11. They handle distribution for the album, which will be located in Roc Nation Hova.
"I have the foundation and I'm ready for takeoff," said.
"I bought my new album – I paid more for it," he added about the last hours long season with Def Jam Records. " I think at this point in my career, I wanted to be completely independent and free in what I wanted. Def Jam and Universal, who made a beautiful thing to let me pay. I took a bit, but I appreciate all the years I put into my career … I could never have a [traditional] record deal. I am working with the Atlantic that will distribute the album and they are doing a fantastic job. I have the opportunity to connect with people who started my career. It's almost like poetic justice. "
Expect more from Jay soon. DJ Skee led to Twitter to say that the first official single from Blueprint 3 will be "On That" with Drake. Jay was not asked and not relate to that song, but spoke of feeling a little bit about the album.
"The atmosphere is what I am, stripping down classic and bring it back, "said Jay." I hear people, I have to go back to my place and really let people know what time it is really fast. "
Although the third incarnation of Black Sabbath – now doing business as Heaven & Hell – is preparing a tour to promote his new album, "The Devil You Know" a battle is raging over who should be the name Saturday.
The singer Ozzy Osbourne, who left the band in 1979 and returned in 1997 to travel newspaper and a live album, is suing the guitarist Tony Iommi, falsely accusing him of taking ownership of the name Saturday in a presentation to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The lawsuit alleges that Osbourne "signature voice" were responsible for "extraordinary success of the band," noting its decline in popularity after he left the first time. Osbourne is demanding a 50 per cent of fame, as well as a fraction of the money earned while he was not in the band.
Iommi has not yet responded to the lawsuit, but before he admitted to Billboard.com that the desire to avoid "legal problems" was behind the adoption of the name of Heaven & Hell for the currently active cartel that includes original bassist Terry "Geezer" Butler, singer Ronnie James Dio (who replaced Ozzy in 1979) and drummer Vinnie Appice. And all acknowledged to have another name for a band that Black Sabbath had recorded as "no misleading, "said that portrays the group's repertoire now more precise.
"I think if we went under the label Black Sabbath would cause problems along the line, "Iommi said." People expect us to be playing 'Iron Man' and 'Paranoid' and other things from (the Ozzy era), and it was not the idea with this line. The idea was to play all the things we did with Ronnie, and we are using the name. "
Heaven & Hell, who met in 2007, is currently touring Europe and begins a 15-show tour of North America on August 7 in Vancouver.
Osbourne also Iommi has reached in a public statement released by his publicist, which reads:
"Since 1997, when Geezer, Bill (Ward, original drummer group) and I returned to the band, Black Sabbath has returned to its former glory as we called arenas and amphitheaters exhausted playing for over 50,000 people per show worldwide. We have worked together to restore credibility and dignity to the name 'Black Sabbath, "the band leading to their incorporation into the UK and U.S. Rock & Roll Hall of Fames in 2005 and 2006, respectively … Tony, I'm sorry you had to get to this point for me having to take this action as a against. I have no right to speak for Geezer and Bill, but I think morally and ethically the mark must be in the hands of the four alike. I hope this first step that leads ultimately instance, end up that way. We have all worked very hard throughout our careers to let you sell merchandise that has all our faces, the old Black Album Sabbath covers and logos of the band, and then tell us that you own the copyright. We are all in our 60 years now. Black Sabbath's legacy must live long long after they are gone. Please do the right thing. "

For nine weeks, I've been meaning to write this column, but I kept getting distracted for things like the cat on the keyboard and latest round of histrionics Pretty Ricky humping furniture. And that is something fitting, since this column is Cobra Starship, a band has become messing around on the Internet at an absolute art form.
And I'm not saying that lowering of its success or hyperkinetic party machine / vocals Gabe Saporta kind of dresses like a blog, but rather, because, well … true. Cobra Starship is a musical meme, the equivalent band of each shot in the groin, not epic and little shocking injuries he has ever seen on YouTube or by email to a million colleagues. His brilliance is reserved for the zeitgeist Zondays Tay-grabbing or Chris Crockers the world. It's stupid smart. Genius dumb. And this is something to be proud.
CobraCam.tv Witness, a site of episodes that launched it nine weeks to promote his upcoming album Hot Mess (by August 11). This is a very clinical description, however, because it is "promotion" only insofar as it has members of Cobra Starship. Rather, it is a kind of sketch-comedy show mixer / pop culture / "WTF is going on?" bonanza. It's the kind of thing a million bands (and a million children in YouTube) try to do, but always fail miserably cases, because they simply are not funny – Or stupid or smart, or committed – enough to carry it out. Cobra Starship is all that stuff, and more.
Over nine installments fool sublime who have shed gallons of blood, face tattoos taunted prodigious Lil Wayne, grown beards, their merchandising hunted man, steaks assaulted with axes, they tried to grow breasts (keytarist Vicky Asher who won a default), selling cleaning products and cologne, performed the surgery, was riding a jackalope and had more Lady Gaga suits. They joked with industry, the British, his fellow bands and, most importantly, themselves. None of this makes much sense, and Mr. know how we are supposed to be gleaning information about Hot Mess, but none of that matters. Because it's all very funny. And because, well, is Cobra Starship. Music is almost secondary.
And if the last line runs so hard, well, I would be willing to bet that the guys (and girl) in the CS agree. With Cobra, the comedy is the thing. And that is more than evident in CobraCam.
There is a fine comic touch on display here – really some of the funniest moments come in throwaway lines or the odd cutaway shot – and a penchant for the bizarre that remembers things like "Kids in the Hall" or the version British "The Office" (or even to blaspheme a little more, "Monty Python's Flying Circus"). They are smart, subtle references things like "The Big Lebowski" and Vince offer and "San Elsewhere" and Wes Anderson shot slo-mo follow-up (there's even a nod to "Good boys "in episode six, but I'm not sure the band even realize). And, of course, a college dedicated to getting drunk: Cobra Starship are the end of a day, a party band.
But here's another to throw at you: Cobra Starship are also a comedy troupe. Each member has a role (Saporta is the drunken lout, Asher silence straight-woman, etc.), as is the case with all large companies there is a breakout star. In the case of Cobra, is the guitarist Ryland Blackington, a lanky, rubber-faced combination of "Saturday Night Live"-era Chevy Chase and "Kids in the Hall" the era of Kevin McDonald, who has positively the most things CobraCam (check episodes two, six and nine for the test). Of course, bass player and drummer Alex Suarez Nate Novarro are pretty good too. Say what you want about Cobra Starship, but they definitely have more fun rhythm section in the business.
And that is a kind of point of all this, I guess. As a band, Cobra Starship is a sketch-comedy troupe really great, and CobraCam is the proof. His dedication – and make no bones about it, to avoid producing episodes for quality requires dedication – the fools, madmen and subtle is what sets them apart from his contemporaries, and it's all on display here. I'm not sure how this will help you Hot Mess (the "fun" bands sell records? We Are Scientists certainly no), however, probably does not matter. Love them or hate them, CS has always been fun, first of all, the music session, and therefore children pack their shows and shed their fangs in the air. In fact, it is a kind of niche they have carved out brilliant, if you think about it. They have become the silent clowns court of pop music. More proof that you have to be very smart to be so stupid.
It is one of the darkest songs goriest on an album positively oozing with dark and bloody songs. That's why Travis Barker knew I had to record a version of Eminem AM 3 "
"I first heard in some blogs, and immediately, I was like, 'Oh, damn, that is demonic," and I love that sort of thing. "Barker laughed." Then I talked with [Blink-182 and] Eminem manager Paul Rosenberg, saying he wanted to do a remix of it, then Em and I talked and discussed putting a touch of rock in the song, and came to him. "
Thus, over four short days – during breaks test for the upcoming tour of Blink's – Barker and a couple of fellow engineer laid live guitar and bass tracks (and, of course, a good dose its patented battery-yet-precise pounding). Em sent them to adjust some parameters, then put the finished product on YouTube, and the rest is history.
"There are many songs I've heard it goes on tour, but this was one of them. The song is really dark and moody, and that's what I wanted the remix to be, "said Barker." And it was good because I have to work with Eminem producer, which is something I do not think many people get to do. He listened, made some adjustments and gave it the OK. "
And Barker, was a welcome return to the remix world – a world that has dominated in recent years with their decision "Flo Rida Low" and Soulja Boy "Crank That". He had to take a break from the remix while recovering from surgery he suffered tens of after walking away from a plane crash in South Carolina fire last year.
"I had not done one since I left the hospital, what was the time, you know? "Said Barker." This was a dope-ass song, and when things come to me that I love, I pursued. I was due one, and not the last. "
