A Brief History of iPod Podcast

When the iPod came out, and users discovered what a wonderful thing it was for the celebration of music, some people had the idea of loading things that were not necessarily songs. Some of the people who put their hands on the iPod took the route of reverse engineering the iPod and loading on different firmware, or operating system, but others had the idea of sharing small sound files that can be played on the iPod.

Many blogs already used to keep readers up to date with the latest posts, but some podcasters hope had the idea of enclosing links to sound files at the RSS feed and download the file to your computer.
With the change of RSS feeds, ipod podcast took off, and podcasting became a popular form of file sharing. Users saw podcasting as a way to become radio presenters or DJ's, and a variety of podcasts began to appear. Software was written to automatically check the RSS feeds, extract links to podcast episodes, and download files. These programs began to be known as podcast clients.
By this time, podcasting had moved beyond the ipod, and were not simply making a podcast ipod more. Some people have discovered how to use even the games of the PlayStation Portable as a podcast player.
It was more difficult to download podcasts to your iPod, because the PSP uses a different format for the files, but PSP podcasts began appearing. In addition, podcasting made inroads into the broader audience of people without iPods, who simply saw podcasting as a convenient way to receive news, music and entertainment via Internet.
Today, while the iPod podcast type still exists, fewer people subscribe to podcasts as a way to get portable media files that can be heard anywhere. Despite which remains an attractive part of podcasting, which seems to be eclipsed by the ease with which podcasting has become a content distribution system. Now, podcasting has become tied up with the growing number of audio and video blogs, where blogging is not done by mail, but through media files uploaded the blog.
These blogs, podcasting and, in general, take advantage of reduced costs of Internet connections to broadband and the increasing number of people high-speed access to offer Internet image-rich with multimedia files.
