6) Las Vegas – Like Adobe Audition, Vegas multitracking is a solution that can also provide mixing and mastering capabilities. Each song can be like EQ in Adobe Audition.
7) Cubase – A more comprehensive and more complex, Cubase offers great versatility for the user. unlimited number of patches (called VST) can be used on a single track full sound. Cubase also has a lot of plugins and add-ons available for it that extend its capabilities. A great piece of software with a bit of a learning curve.
Vision Study – A higher end option for the Mac, Studio Vision offers greater control over their tracks and is the preferred choice of professionals using Mac systems in the study.
9) Reason – Something similar to Fruity Loops, this is another series that has found a large audience among DJs, producers hip hop and others working with loops and beats. You can do more than this, but loop is their specialty.
10) Pro Tools – This is the industry standard software and one of the most popular tools in the field of recording. There are plenty of options for the use of VST and complete control over the tracks. Takes some learning ProTools to take full advantage of, but its versatility makes it well worth the effort.
Each of these options has different capabilities for software producers and some programs work well for some, while not evoke the needs of others. If you know about these programs, you will be able to choose and effectively use their capabilities to their recordings.
