ok for the serious basketball fan?
Do you liken the defeat of Chris Paul and the Hornets to the Spurs to when the Celtics defeated the Pistons in 1988..??(where game 5 of the Bird steal and pass to DJ for the lay-up took place)
…..I guess the reason I come up with this question….you had the upstart Pistons were playing as tough as you can the then defending Champion Boston Celtics…..and with the Celtics experience and moxy they were able to pull through a tough 7game series…..the Hornets are the upstarts playing …the defending NBA champions and gave the Spurs all they can handle in 7 tough games…but the Spurs and their championship experience pulled through….although there were no heroic moments..(i.e. the Bird steal from Isiah)…it felt like the tone of the series was the same…..
My opinion is somewhat bias but no i don’t think this game tonight was anything like that. I probably think that way because I’m a Pistons fan and those 80′s teams were tough as nails. These guys were very good, but it’s not quite the same to me. There wasn’t really a shocking moment in this game.
