I want to produce trance music industry but do not know how to begin ..?
I would like to know of any good books, software, processors, etc to start. I want all the basics and the fancy stuff! I dream about being a DJ, but do not know where to start. PLEASE HELP!
There are many things you need to know. To address what is asked directly, the basics come from extensive reading and just playing around with your DAW. The fancy stuff comes from integrating and applying basic knowledge learned. Contrary to popular belief, so EDM (including industrial and trance) in general is d ** n hard to do well. Most people will tell you that sounds simple, so it should be simple to do. They could not be more wrong. Others have become part of the production, and still think it's easy. They are wrong too. Most of their information comes from people with superficial knowledge, or those who have no idea what they are speaking at all. If you are producing and think it's easy, you're doing something wrong. The main difficulty in making EDM good news is that first, a lot of things already done, so you kind of do a little searching in the literature sometimes not so important though. Secondly, you have to know how to use programs, which have steep learning curves. Third, you have to know how to design novel sounds. In the past, people used to sound quite similar often. That does not fly anymore. We look for novelty in today's sound design and other factors. Finally, you have to learn to EQ / mix correctly. This may end up being 99% of their efforts. New sounds have no universal protocol for mixing, you have to be very creative in the way of EQ / mixing in your track. This will teach you the basics, but you can learn to mix reading, especially since the MEH not teach you all you could do synth EQ. In fact, you can not learn to produce trance for reading at all. While help you do your homework, it takes a long experimentation and creativity to produce really good trance track. Most people never study enough or have no the kind of talent (another type of talent that you will listen to other genres is most important here.) You must know your synthesizers and equipment inside out or have a fairly high possibility of being condemned to mediocrity. I am a neophyte producers tutoring few now, and most of them come in thinking that will be the next DJ Tiesto because they have experience in other genres of music. They have all realized that this is not the case. Production of EDM in general, not for the faint of heart, and I often have to press those guys to keep working on it. You find hardware and software problems, sound problems quality, and a few synthesizers issues simply do not work together. Sometimes just moving a knob on the synthesis of a few ticks can make a big difference. It same with the EQ. If you work hard on it, and you have the creativity to manipulate technology as well as musical notes and instruments, which should be well on your way, but I can not guarantee that you succeed. The best programs you may want to use include: Cubase, Sonar, Ableton and among some others. Reaper can work well. You will need to strengthen their capacities VST music production. What do you use depends on what kind of sounds and effects you want. Many are expensive (as expensive as those contained DAW). You can, however, get decent results using synthesizers free. I recommend the Synth1 as a free VSTi. It is the model the Clavia Nord Lead. If you are not familiar with some of the terms I'm using, it is mainly because you are just the beginning. You should be able to look up easily because they are part of the fundamental language producers use, so sooner or later, will have to learn.
