Connecting Turntable Receiver
compatibility of the stereo receiver with phono hook-up?
I have a stereo system composed of tradtional CompoNet receiver, cd, tape and phono. My existing malfunctioning receiver has a specific port and switch for Phono yet other than the highest price, new receivers do not have the port and RCA phono selector. I need a new receiver and was told that the cd and the components of the tape can be used or connected either in ports receptor / channels yet there is something inherently different about the compatibility of phone and connect. There for I can not connect the phono leads, for example, the receiving port aux or DVD whereby the cd and tape would work. Is it true that specifically need a PHONO port on the receiver, which is rare nowadays, of the turntable to work? Or is compatible with the existing connection ports, ie dvd, aux? Does the dish "the need" to phono RCA port switch and or I can use the dvd, tv or aux? Thanks, heinz
Otherwise, your phonograph or turntable, will work with any input auxillery.
