The Northern Soul R & B'S
The term Northern Soul has been considered by Dave Godin, a reporter from the "Blues and Soul" magazine 1968. Godin came up with the term used when the music helps stock the shelves of your record store in London England. As newer music Rhythm and Blues (R & B) The music came, wanted to be able to differentiate the softest sounds of early R & B of the more funky sounds recent was hitting the airwaves. The term northern soul now refers to the golden oldies rhythm and blues played on many of the most popular clubs in the north of America was flooded with R & B musicians, however, in England opened a new avenue of R & B artist to make it big, and they did biog England today.
Back in the 60s, when most of the clubs where changing rhythms of the more modern genres of music, many northern England opted to keep clubs soul music rare times. This business has not slowed to such well-established clubs today, if something is brought in more customers than ever before. The customers knew what they liked and did not feel the need to follow the fashions of the time.
Northern Soul played an important role in the beginning of the DJ culture in England. The United States was filling up with R & B artist and Britain opened a new headquarters for the artist, not only to collect, but for some that is great in the music industry that there was an opportunity for another way into the States because of the huge amount of R & B artists are in circulation. Artists like Tammi Lynn, The Fascinations, The Velvelettes, The Tams, and many others made great success in the UK due to the love of Northern Soul.
So who makes up the Northern Soul genre one may ask, the answer is simple but overwhelming, as thousands make the kind of Northern Soul. This genus includes part Top R & B artist to one hit wonders. Northern Soul is not a style, voice, musical instrument choice, or even theme song, soul music of the north is a feeling, a heartbeat, and the ability to dance. Some of the Northern Soul options are very rare and hard to find, even today, other, more popular some had a slow beat slot while others have a rapid rate.
Remember Kool and the Gang, Bill Withers, or Gwen Guthrie, but it all added to Northern Soul movement in the north of England, as well as hundreds of thousands of more R & B artist Names like Randy Crawford, Bobby Womack, Gerald Levert, and even the O'Jays still play a part of the dance floors in clubs around the world. More contemporary artists such as Kenny G, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan and also play an important role of gender northern soul. If the feet can be put to the beat of the Rhythm and Blues, more than likely has become a part Northern Soul gender.
