Bcd3000 Virtual Dj
screeching sound coming from my speakers when I move the cross fader and / or low, medium and high controls?
I have a speaker system 3 piece (2spk, 1woof) which is pluged in my laptop (dv9000) also I have a BCD3000 (mixer / regulator) has a seprate sound card is pluged my mic I'm using more Virtual Dj for the software. Every time you move the cross fader or TREB knobs under a rustling leaves them as the palm rubbing the microphone. Anyone know how I can get trivial get rid of this? The screeching sound is coming from the speakers when I move the crossfader and more headphone mix, etc.
This is what is known as dirty pots (potentiometers). Volume control, fader buttons are variable resistors (pots) that literally have a cleaner that runs laps of a coil to vary the amount of circuit resistance is, varying the sound level. If there is a slight accumulation of corrosion or dirt on the surfaces of the coil, this causes the noise you described. To fix this, you have to access the back of the pots (from inside the computer) and rose in a contact switch over clean or freeze spray (usually freon or some other gas which instantly cools when it comes out of the can). Then activate the pots to make cleaner really out to clean the coils inside. This is what electronics repair people use to clean the internal components of computer when you bring it to repair. Can be found in stores of electronics parts.
