Accident at the bar … Do I have to pay for the damage?
Accident in the bar …. I am obligated to pay? (Legally?)? We were in a bar, get drunk, of course, but not to the point of no return … The bar had a DJ setup in an area unsafe and I accidentally touched the computer DJ's laptop of Apple and dropped on the floor. It still works however, the case to break a little. The manager of the bar left me a message saying that the laptop was worth $ 2,500 and worked so that he paid 800 and wants me to pay 800. Do I have to pay for this? Is not responsible for this bar? No sense that the bar did not achieve the Boothe DJs … common sense is drunk + no expensive equipment go hand in hand.
I do not even think about paying for it. The bar should have insurance cover if things thses type, so your insurance company to handle it. Looks like someone is trying to get some money. If the manager bar felt compelled to pay half of it, then he is taking responsibility. If he did not have any obligation to pay anything that. I suspect he is not paying anything and is just trying to get some extra money. Ask for the name and telephone number of the insurance company of the bar. The DJ is probably negligent in this matter to leave the laptop in a dangerous place.
