electronic music DJ's / For critics and writers …?
What does 'gender' or industry think of remix / mashups using an existing song, but add your own rhythms and effects on the sense of a new song? What are the legal guidelines behind making these tracks? Y'all do not consider software programs like Virtual DJ "cheating?" I'm new to this but have had much success and fun with the program Virtual DJ. I use Ableton Live 6.0, Stylus RMX and Adobe Audition as well. Figuring out the reason is that all hardware components and cables, its difficult. I am from the USA. There is a Sirius Radio channel 34 called "Boombox" … all breakbeats and mashups, many electro (like ' Goldfrapp Ooh La La 'remix for example). It's a great influence over all kinds of Jamaican reggae / dancehall and Puerto Rican reggaeton styles, but still I'm on the level of practice.
Not knowing what country you're in. In Australia, you can not even use samples of other peoples. However, if, for example, has made a cd with your stuff in it, including things that samples were analyzed, "Demo blend of voices, etc riffs from other artists, and labeled" Demo "or", and handed out in clubs, etc, can get away with using samples. You can not sell it though, unless contact the original writer and composer of the sample and received permission to use it. Below is a site with information, etc. Using software programs like Virtual DJ, etc. are excellent for doing what you like, make music. FL Studio is good, and TechnoEjay (several editions), but Techno Ejay 4 crashes a lot. You can do almost anything with these programs, and sound good. asp We really http://www.apra.com.au/general/about_us-copyright.asp author also joined http://www.triplejunearthed.com and http://www.mp3.com.au you do not have to be Australian to join you may upload your music, and others can listen and give advice and opinions.
